About BotBoard
We built the Discord bot directory we wanted to use.
Top.gg has been the default place to find Discord bots for years. It did the job when there were a few thousand bots. Now there are hundreds of thousands, and the experience of actually finding the right bot hasn't kept up.
BotBoard exists because finding a Discord bot shouldn't feel like digging through a junk drawer.
What's different
Discovery that actually works.
Most bot directories sort by server count. That tells you what's popular. It doesn't tell you what's good for your server. BotBoard organizes bots by what they do, who they're for, and how they compare to alternatives. Looking for a moderation bot for a 500-person gaming server? We'll show you the three that make sense, not a wall of 200 results sorted by install count.
Honest, useful reviews.
We prioritize reviews from server admins who've actually run a bot for more than a week. Not one-line “great bot” reviews from people gaming a vote system. When you read a review on BotBoard, it tells you what the bot does well, what it doesn't, and what kind of server it works best on.
Head-to-head comparisons.
Every bot category on BotBoard includes side-by-side feature and pricing comparisons. Dyno vs Carl-bot vs Sapphire. Jockie Music vs Hydra vs FredBoat. See what each one offers at each price tier so you can make an actual decision instead of adding three bots and hoping one works.
Content that helps you, not just lists.
We publish guides on setting up bots for specific use cases: D&D campaigns, study groups, team workspaces, gaming communities. These aren't generic listicles. They're opinionated recommendations from people who've built and run servers.
No ad clutter.
Top.gg makes money from ads, promoted listings, and voting systems that incentivize bots to gamify their rankings. BotBoard keeps the experience clean. We'd rather have a directory you actually want to browse than one you tolerate because it's the only option.
Built for bot developers who don't have a marketing team.
If you're a solo developer or a small team, getting noticed on Top.gg means competing with bots that have millions of installs and years of accumulated votes. BotBoard surfaces quality bots based on what they do, not just how long they've been around. New bots with great functionality get the same visibility as established ones.
What we don't do
BotBoard is a directory and discovery platform. We don't host bots. We don't process payments. We don't run a voting system that turns bot discovery into a popularity contest. We help people find the right bot for their server, and we help developers get their bots in front of the right audience. That's it.
Who's behind this
BotBoard is built by people who run Discord servers and got tired of the existing options for finding bots. We're a small team, we ship fast, and we're building this based on what the community actually needs.
If you're a bot developer, list your bot on BotBoard for free.
If you're a server admin, start browsing. We update the directory daily.
